Common Name: ZZ Plant

Scientific Name: Zamioculcas zamiifolia

Pot Size: 8"

This plant deserves a lot more attention than it gets. It is one of the toughest around, making it a perfect choice to add to your home or office. ZZ plants usually grow to a height of 17"-24". These beauties are smooth, shiny, and dark green. Their individual leaf longevity of at least 6 months is the reason it can survive extremely well under low light and needs less water. The Zamioculas zamiifolia grows with low levels of light, but it's best to avoid direct sunlight.  Watering:  Allow the soil to become dry at the top two inches to the touch between watering and do not overwater  It's best to water this plant less than too much because over-watering can cause stem and rhizome rot. Water every 3 weeks to 1 month.   If you do not have a green thumb, this plant is for you!

I would re-pot the ZZ plant once a year at the beginning of spring. Poisonous: All parts of this plant are said to be toxic if ingested by children, cats, and dogs.
