Common Name: Ficus Audrey (Banyan)

Scientific Name: Ficus benghalensis

Overview: The Ficus Audrey is a beautiful alternative to her sister Fiddle-Leaf Fig Tree (Ficus lyrata). It’s easier to care for and tolerates low-light conditions. This indoor plant will do well in medium to bright filtered light. It stills loves humidity and cannot tolerate drafts from windows or vents.

It acclimates well to new spaces and is less finicky when it comes to water needs. Its leaves are a vibrant green cut by light green veins of perfection. It will stretch its branches into a beautiful vine form as it grows.

    Care Information:

      • Sunlight: Thrives in warm, humid conditions climates. We suggest bright, indirect sunlight near an east-facing or northern-facing window (or a few feet removed away from a south-facing or west-facing window). They do better with filtered sunlight than Fiddle-Leaf Figs. Just make sure it’s not sitting in direct sunlight for hours in the afternoon. Keep the plant away from doors, A/C vents, and open windows since it does not like dry or drafty areas and prefers humidity.
      • Water: Like the Fiddle-Leaf Fig, Ficus Audrey likes fairly moist soil, but not too much water. Water when the top 3” is dry. Usually, 10 days or more will pass before this happens. This is highly dependent on your growing environment. A Moisture Meter can help monitor a plant's water needs.
        • Dark spots on the leaves = overwatering

        • Yellowing leaves; crisp spots = underwatering

      • Pets: A Ficus Audrey will occasionally drop leaves. Do not allow pets to ingest the leaves.
      • FertilizerUse a fertilizer with an N-P-K ratio of 3-1-2.
